DISASTER RELIEF
We sent $1000.00 to the
disaster relief fund in Glade Spring. We have received a receipt from
the bank thanking us for the donation.
CONFIRMATION
On Sunday, June
5th, Sierra Vaught was confirmed as a member of United Lutheran Church.
Verna Henley instructed her in the cathechism. Welcome, Sierra, into
the church family of United.
The council will meet on Sunday, June 19th,
after worship.
Sunday School is still on hold.
THANKS!
Thanks to Barbara Hall for
planting flowers in the planters outside the church doors.
Thanks to Willie Hall for taking
the items to Trammel on Saturday, June 4th. We had many items to take
and they are greatly appreciated.
Thanks to Gus Kincer for getting
all the info concerning the Financial Peace University course. If you,
or someone you know, is interested, please see Gus.
CLEAN-UP DAY
Instead of setting aside one
Saturday to do the cleaning at the church, it was decided by council
that anyone who had any free time, and would like to help, come when
you could and do what you can. The main job is to wash the windows. If
you would like to come during the week and do not have a key, see
Beverly.
CONSTITUTION
Beverly Wynn is working on
making the changes to the constitution. It will be done, hopefully, by
the council meeting in June.
CARE ABOUNDS IN COMMUNITY
We have been approved by Thrivent
to receive $200 from the Care Abounds in Community fund for help in
feeding the children at Speedwell School for the SOL after school study
program. All paperwork has been sent in and we should receive the check
soon. Thanks to all who helped.
SENIOR CITIZENS
If you are interested in joining
the Senior Citizens group that meets at United, please see Mary Vaught
or call her at (276) 621-4578. They meet every Wednesday from 9:30 -
12:30. Come join the fellowship!
